Time in nature with your little ones can be beautiful but why not make it even more fun with some books. I have been using several outdoor books with my little ones that we absolutely love. We don’t go on any camping trip without them (or even some trails). The beauty of these outdoor books are that not only do they have activities but they are also engaging and educational. My girls have learned about various leaves, feathers, trees, and just about every creepy crawling bug we find. We also gather items and create nature tables or even art.
I have posted before about our road trip boredom busters or even our favorite healthy snacks for kids but not about our fun filled outdoor books. Let me tell you all about these books and why I love them.
THE USBORNE OUTDOOR BOOK
The first book I want to start off with is the Outdoor Book. This book is filled with so many activities for you to do with your little ones. Our favorite activity is the Tree Detective. This is where you gather leaves, pine cones, seeds, and other items that come from the trees and play detective. It’s like finding clues and seeing which tree it may have came from. This helps your little ones learn the trees in the areas and what leaves, seeds, and even bark each one of them has.
The Outdoor Book has other activities as well such as creating a raft out of twigs, bird watching, creating a bird bath, creating wild art, setting up camp, and much more. One of the activities that I am planning to do with my kids is, “Finding Your Way.” This is where the kids learn how to find north by using the sun and a few stones. The book has activities for various environments such as the beach, rivers, woods and more making it perfect for any family adventure.

1,000 THINGS IN NATURE
This outdoor book is absolutely perfect for any environment. It covers various categories such as meadows and fields, backyard wildlife, jungle, woodlands, under the sea, and many more. I can take this book with me on any family adventure and do a scavenger hunt with them. It is perfect for camping, on the trail, or just a day out at the park. We even use it in our backyard when we can’t get around to visiting any nature trails. My daughter Bella loves to look for feathers, leaves, seeds, flowers, and birds. On the other hand, my youngest daughter Isa searches for creepy-crawlies such as caterpillars and grasshoppers as well as flowers and leaves.

FIRST STICKER BOOK: NATURE
This is another fun outdoor book to have. I like to use this one when on the road versus on the trail though. It helps get my kiddos excited about what’s to come. Each page has a section of stickers to go with it and a specific category. One page is about butterflies (my daughter’s favorite part of the book) and has all sorts of butterflies. My daughter had to take the butterflies and put them with the matching shadow. Below it it has the name of the butterfly. The book has many different themes on every page creating a well rounded nature sticker book for your child.

MY FIRST REFERENCE BOOK ABOUT NATURE
Another nature book that is perfect for adventurous kids. This outdoor book is our other favorite to bring with us on our camping trips or on the hiking trails. It has a few activities for your kids to do. One that we really like to do is the nature table. This is where we have a list of items to find and then we make a nature table out of it. What I love most about this book is that it teaches my kids about nature in a fun and interactive way. It teaches your little ones about the seasons, kinds of animals, birds, bugs, animal tracks and even has a nature quiz for them.

COLORFUL WORLD: FOREST
Colorful books are the best, especially for toddlers. This book is good for the little ones as a simple and quick activity. It teaches them about the different animals in the forest as well as helps them learn how to spot differences.
